Anyone who is among the living has hope —even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 9:4-6
An author wrote, “death is the great equalizer.” But I realized that it’s more of a “separator,” taking people away from their loved ones. While others think that the dead are in a better state, which is true if they believed in Jesus, it is the living that has hope. As long as you are living, it means you have greater hope than that of a dead lion or a great person who’s dead because you can still experience God’s forgiveness, His grace, and His goodness. You don’t have to die to experience rest and peace because it is available in Jesus right now. Don’t wait for death before you turn to God. Live your life, carrying the hope that comes from God.
